It was great to visit Decorex in London this October. Decorex is Europe’s leading interior design event and it has been running for 44 years. It is a place where all the members of the design community get together to see the latest product launches, listen to some talks by leading names in the interiors sphere and chat to each other about trends.
You can see lots of highlights on my Instagram feed. Look under Decorex 22 highlights here.
Here are my top finds this year.
Soho Lighting
Soho Lighting have an obsession with beautiful lighting and accessories that stems from years of interior design and period renovation projects. Launched in 2017, they provide elegant, timeless, and versatile traditionally designed lights that have been honed for modern day living needs. The lights reflect various period and vintage styles and use LED bulbs to replicate the original design of incandescent bulbs. Their elegant switches and sockets are hand-crafted in a range of finishes to work seamlessly with, or without, home automation technology. They are really beautifully designed lights from a great UK company. www.soholighting.com
Pooky
From table lamps, bedside lamps and standing lamps to brass lamps, marble lamps, and spindle lamps Pooky create unique quirky lights. This year they were showcasing their new range of switches and sockets. Pooky believe that beautiful light switches and plug sockets are the curtain-raiser to grand and elegant interiors and I agree with them! Their sockets and switches are made from pure brass and beautifully finished in antique and bronze. Switch on with style. www.pooky.com

Ferreira de Sa
Founded in 1946, Ferreira de Sá is one of the biggest and oldest existing companies producing hand-made rugs in Europe. Located in a small town in the north of Portugal, the company offers three different production techniques: hand-tufting, Portuguese hand-knotting (often called Beiriz Stitch) and hand-weaving. Their luxury rugs are all custom-made by a talented team of designers and artisans who work with their clients to make a unique piece. www.ferreiradesa.pt
Bert Frank
Bert Frank’s award-winning lights are designed and made in the UK. Founded in 2013 by two men, Adam Yeats and Robbie Llewellyn, the aim of the company was to create high-end products that would stand the test of time and fly in the face of throwaway consumerism. Bert Frank pendants add drama to any room – over dining tables, kitchen islands, stairways, wherever overhead light is needed. I have recently bought a Rote Brass Pendant light for one of my projects. The light has an incredible geometric shade with contrasting slatted diamond shapes in brass and black. We have installed this in a Georgian reception room in Bath to give it a stunning contemporary twist. Using contemporary lighting in a heritage home is a tip I often give to my clients. It’s an unexpected twist. This light even has a built-in Bluetooth so you can dim the light from your phone. www.bertfrank.co.uk
S-Contract
S-Contract design and produce modern upholstered furniture for residential and public places. S-Contract is a family business and their chief designers were their children. Light and playful, their ideas and drawings of furniture impressed their parents and inspired the creation of a collection of upholstered furniture. Their style is interesting, and off-beat and I loved these curved chairs. www.scontract.co.uk
Wewood
Wewood is a Portuguese heritage design brand specialising in designing, manufacturing and exporting timeless furniture. Their story began in 1964 with two brothers working together in a small joinery workshop in the north of Portugal. Through the years, that workshop grew and became the company “Móveis Carlos Alfredo” which manufactured and exported solid wood furniture for over fifty years. In 2012 that brand became Wewood – a design house proud of its heritage and grounded in the principles of quality of the materials, durable construction and timeless design. I loved the beautiful walnut dining tables, contemporary desks and rectangular sideboards and cocktail cabinets, which had real mid-century modern man-about-town vibes. The quality and craftsmanship shines through. www.wewood.eu
A Rum Fellow
A Rum Fellow is a London based design studio dedicated to artisan textiles and rugs and statement interior pieces emblazed by colour and intricate pattern. The founders, Caroline and Dylan, search the globe in search of the wonderful and unique. I love the flat weave rugs (also known as dhurries or kelims) in beautiful colours. They look wonderful in contemporary and traditional interiors. www.arumfellow.com
Domkapa
Based in Portugal, Domkapa was founded in 2009 as a private label. They specialise in wonderful upholstery pieces like this incredible curved sofa in a soft cream boucle. All the materials used in the production of these beautiful sofas are 100% Portuguese. Domkapa pride themselves on local production, supporting small suppliers, and boosting the entire regional and national economy – which I really admire. I would love to use a sofa like this in a future project; it was so comfortable! www.domkapa.com

Divine Savages are husbands Jamie Watkins and Tom Kennedy. With successful careers in fashion and design, they founded Divine Savages in 2017 determined to do interiors their way. They take inspiration from history, culture, fashion and the natural world to create a melting pot of ideas, which they then use to design exquisitely crafted wallpapers and fabrics, glamorous home accessories, fabulous gifts and limited-edition art prints. I’ve used their bold colourful wallpapers in some of my projects and I am delighted they are soon to be moving to my home town of Bath. www.divinesavages.com
