Regency villa on the southern slopes of Bath
The property is an attractive two storey Grade II Listed Regency townhouse in a peaceful, tucked away position in the hills to the south of the centre of Bath.
The house had a great deal of charm and character but has been rented before being purchased by my client. Whilst being in good condition it was a little bland and characterless. My clients had moved to Bath for work and wanted to turn the house into a family home which reflected their style and personality. Their vision was to restore it to its former glory while adding modern comforts. Their grown-up children have left home but return often so the house had to accommodate family visits.
The property is entered through a spacious entrance hall with utility room and cloakroom. There are two main reception rooms on the ground floor; the sitting room at the front of the property and there is a snug which leads through to the fantastic open plan kitchen and conservatory dining room with views over the garden. The ground floor also has a lovely study.
On the first floor there are four double bedrooms, a bathroom and a shower room.
The house was in need of a complete redesign, which included new flooring, lighting, bathrooms, bespoke furniture, new fireplaces, curtains and blinds and wallcoverings throughout.
We designed the house to create a comfortable and relaxed home with nods to the client’s love of pattern and colour. Each room is different and features a ‘talking point’, but the whole design of the house has a cohesive harmonious feel.
This stunning Regency lodge house is now a comfortable relaxed family home which my clients are enjoying living in.
